Kanye West apparently set to create new short film centred in the Middle EastFebruary 2nd, 2012
Following in the footsteps of his film/video Runaway, Kanye West is planning a new project which is set to take place somewhere in the Middle East. According to the New York Observer, "Mr. West sent members of his team to meet with film companies and government officials based out of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Doha, Qatar to explore the idea of a production. A number of local municipal officials and film companies are said to be engaged in what was characterized as a heated bidding war for the contracts involved in bringing Mr. West’s vision to life."
The film is also set to feature actors from the region. More details to come as they're released, in the mean time you can watch Kanye's "Runaway" below.
Tegan and Sara to begin recording new album this monthFebruary 2nd, 2012
Good news Tegan and Sara fans! The Canadian songstresses have announced that they will be heading into the studio this month to begin recording a new album. The announcement came via a blog post on the band's official website, where Tegan Quin revealed that they have been busy preparing the new record. "Officially we just finished our 41st song," she wrote. "Don't worry, there will NOT be 41 songs on the record! PROMISE! And for those that wish they could hear all 41 songs, really? Ha. Even my mom set the limit at 25."
She added, "I have no idea how long it's going to take to finish or when it will come out, but we'll be updating you as we know things." Recording is set to begin February 20.

Toro Y Moi to release retrospective 7"February 2nd, 2012
Toro Y Moi, aka Chas Bundick, is releasing a new retrospective 7" vinyl box set called June 2009. The set will include 10 songs from a previously released tour only CD-R, and will drop April 24. The album will also be available digitally and on CD. You can listen to the first single off of the release, "Dead Pontoon", above, as well as Toro Y Moi's upcoming tour dates below.
